The Best 30 Seconds of your life.

I was reading this article... I had to share... The best 30 seconds of your life! Here`s my thoughts on this: we spend so much time chasing Better, reeling from disappointment, feeling outraged or sad... Focused on an experience we have played in our head for the future... then cleansing, updating, transforming... Often it fuels our very reason to 'jump on the wagon', make changes, want to lose weight for instance. Other times those same reasons are the source of those feelings. The world is a beautiful place, and the creations walking in it are equally splendid. Sadly, we tend to report on dark events, focus on the bad, the sad, the ugly **by 'we' I mean the general North American society... I KNOW there are many of you who aspire, like me, to to zoom in on the good.. but let's be honest here, we spend much more time talking about the downs than we do about the ups. It`s who `we` are as a society and that the 'we' I am talking about. The Best 30 Seconds of your Life, is a game that sends us down memory lane focusing on all the beautiful moments that life has sent our way! It`s exciting... when done correctly - we quickly realize that there are so many moments in our lives competing to be THE best! I said it before, perspective is HUGE. Looking back has become my way of dealing with the opinion I have of myself.( Hello, My name is M, I am 31 years old and I am still learning to love myself. Ha!) I do not live in the past... I don`t even dwell on what could have been, it's behind me, and I am RUNNING forward, trust me! But, I love the exercise of opening that old box in my memory of mementos and images. 30 second snap shots of beauty, comfort, peace, happiness, pride, joy, love, excitement, thrill... It is even more interesting, in my opinion, when we share one of those 30 second snap shots with one an other. So many memories have come pouring out into my mind since I have started writing. I decided to share this less obvious recollection... My grandmother Mamie and I were very close... She lived with us. One day, we were playing scrabble as we did so often. I was missing the letter 'A' to form a word that would make any fourth grader proud to have put together especially over a triple point square. So, I held on to the blocks until I would draw an 'A'.. But it didn`t come. My grandmother, knowing all things and reading my mind carefully placed a word down on the board with two open 'A's, looked up at me, smiled and sent me a wink. I remember that feeling ... It was pride, it was comfort it was... important. A thirty second of love. So, what was the best 30 seconds of your life? Share in the comment below, GO!
